Gary GS Symes has been with Fens since 2010-2011 season. Gary started out as a striker for Fens scoring some important goals none more important than the one he got against the arch rivals Kilmore when he roasted Charlie Kinsella and slotted home from a tight angle . Gary is known for his close control and they way he can score goals with his left or right foot no bother to him. This season things changed for Gary when he decided to play in goal. As you can see in the picture below Gary getting his cake at probably eating it all by himself he is Fens number one keeper when he gets up for the matches. He has kept the most amount of clean sheets this season. If he gets his fitness up there just might be a place up front in the second team and with the goals he can score he would be a great addition to the team. . Wherever he plays for Fens he adds something to the team we just haven't found out what that is. You decide from the pictures below what Gary's best position is
Anto BFG Ayton is one of Fens longest serving players this is his fourth season for Fens and his is still not even twenty one. The nick name big friendly giant suits him down to a tee. You couldn't meet a nicer lad than anto but he is over seven foot tall and he his still growing. Anto plays at centre half and has shined for both the first and second team. He is currently the second team captain. For his size you would think he scores a lot of goals with his head but he has actually scored more with his feet than his head. He is know for make his mazy runs down the flank at least twice a season. With Anto been young and dedicated to Fens he should be at the club for many years to come. Sure he wouldn't be aloud to leave even if he wanted to. This club has long standing ties to the Ayton family with his dad and his uncle Dave playing for Fens for many years. While his two older cousins have also played for the club Rob is still playing and we are working on getting Mark back from injury. So the BFG will be captain for the second team as long as those big tree trunks can hold him up.
John MOSES Donlon. It was John destiny to play for Fens as soon as John Gray married his sister. Once you are a male and are some way related to the Grey family you are playing for Fens weather you like it or not. John first played for Fens when he was brought out when Fens where in the top division four seasons ago. He really only started to play week in week out last season and he hasn't let the team down once. You can put him any where on the pitch and he will do the job he has to and he never complains. Some people think John is in the twilight of his career since he looks in his forty's but he is actually only twenty eight. John has been great this season for the second team an he finally ended up on a winning team when Darren Whelan took charge of the second team. John had played nearly twenty games for Fens before he got his first win. Some say its like the Gareth Bale story we are hoping that John can produce some performances just like bale so he can finally get a goal for Fens.
James THE TOOTH FAIRY Carley joined Fens at the tail end of the 2010-2011 season where he played in the midfield. This season has see James been called up to the first team squad but he just couldn't break into what has to be said a very solid team. James got his nick name when in training he knocked out one of his team mates front tooth. The name actually suits James as you can see from the picture below. James started as a winger for Fens but under new management in the second team he has been converted to centre half and he has been outstanding so far in his new position. Here is hoping with James and the centre of the Fens defence the second team can kick on next season as in recent weeks the second team have been on a good run.
Philip MULLZINIO Mulligan is a new player to join fenstanton and another player from the TOP SCHEME in coolock!! Phil is as SOLID as they come he is like a brick wall at the back theres very few people to go through him and come out the other side alive. He wins absolutely every header he goes for and hurts everyone challenging in the process. hes got quick feet and some tricks up his sleeves and knows how to pick a pass long and short. Phil didnt walk into the starting line up he BARGED his way into it with consistent performances in training and pre-season. Phil provides the strength needed at the back of the fens defence and will help the team to progress in the right direction.
Andrew
PANCH O Hanlon is one of fens newest and youngest players at the ripe age of 19. Panch brings alot to the team including his skills and previous experience in a top division with St.Kevins Fc where he played alongside manchester united player robbie brady. panch has serious moves and pace and he can turn defenders inside out with ease. with a strong left and right foot panch can shoot from anywhere and cause keepers hassle. panch has a couple of goals under his belt but hasnt hit top scoring form just yet due to a recent ankle injury that has seen him out of action for a couple of months although he is back in training and recovering fast he should make his way back into the starting line up in no time.
Darren MULLDOON Mulligan is a yet another signing in in the 2010/2011 season. Hes a natural striker but has been used many times as a winger and has done extremely well although Mullo has not sealed a place in the starting 11 but he is within touching distance of doing so. He has been terrorizing defenders in training banging in goals left right and centre and has made a couple of appearances off the bench and helped fens secure wins. Mullo has found the net this season once in the league and once in pre season both fantastically taken goals. Mullo is known for finding the net in the most tightest angles. hopefully Mullo can find his feet and get that starting place and bang in the goals we know he is capable of getting!!
Sean STRETCH Nolan is one of fens long serving club members and although he doesn't look it Sean is the oldest player currently playing for the club even older than johnny gray. Sean is a valuable member of the club has has been one of the reasons the club has stayed alive by continually scouting for young fresh talent every week. Sean's height is the main reason he is compared to peter crouch but he also craves dance music and loves to show off his robot dancing skills and then his goals. His missus claims he looks like Figo but we all know Sean isn't than good looking. Sean's goal scoring record has went from Lionel Messi to a more Emile Heskey as he grows older but saying that he has scored many crucial goals over his career to help fens to where they are today. Sean will go down in the history books as a legend and an inspiration to future fens players...
Stephen GALLY Gallagher is yet another one of fenstantons new additions as he joined in the 2011 season. Gally has burst on the scene in style and has a number of assists and a goal so far. often been compared to Karim Benzema for his cool style of attacking play Gally has a numerous amount of tricks and flicks which he does weekly and leaves defenders dazzled. he also has a serious bit of pace in his rocket shots and is capable from scoring all over the pitch... except on the line (against wyteleaf). Gally links up well with all the other strikers and his unselfishness allows his team-mates to grab the headlines while he remains an unsung hero....
Keith DEZ Ryan AKA DEZY NO HAIR THE WEE HAIR. the nickname Dez comes from eh... well... nobody knows not even Dez. He joined fens in the 2011 season and what a season a debut season he is having with 3 goals in the current campain. Dez has secured a place in the starting 11 and is a versatile player who can play on either wings or the right back position. unfortunately he has been hit with an injury which has seen him sidelined for the last few weeks but dez is currently undergoing a rehabilitation process which will see him back soon.. according to moonball dez is the most handsome fens player and has a certain swag about his play. we look forward to dez's return and wish him the best with his recovery.....
Darren MACKER McNamee signed for Fens in the 2010-2011 season. Macker is know for his wicked left foot. He can play left Midfield up front or even his most hated position left full. Macker has been in and out of the first team for the last two seasons he is a very good player but sometimes he finds it hard to overcome his addictions as seen in the picture below. But in all honestly Macker works extremely hard in training and matches when he plays. macker is a student studying sport where he is gaining some extra knowledge and fitness which will bwccome beneficial to working his way into a regular spot on the team. He has come close a couple of times to breaking his duck for Fens no more so when he scored a sublime finish against Clontarf only for it to be wrongly ruled offside. Macker has stated that this season he will find the net with his trusty left peg and he has the full fens squad behind him!!!!! 100%
